Teachers: Ms. Woodfill and Mr. Michener
Grade 11, Periods 3 & 4
Ms. Woodfill's eleventh-grade AOIT English class used their reading of Arthur Miller's The Crucible as the focus of a digital-storytelling project. Working from primary and secondary sources, participating students researched topics of interest related to the Salem Witch Trails of 1692 and the social, political and historical themes in the play, including a consideration of contemporary issues related to civil liberties.
Students completed individual projects, developing scripts for voiceovers, gathering images from the Internet and creating storyboards to organize the presentation of their research. Using their storyboards, they worked in class to assemble their films: matching visuals to the narrative, working with transitions, and experimenting with special effects and music to complete their projects.
